TWINSBURG – William R. Long, 88 years old, from Twinsburg, died on Tuesday, June 8th, 2021.

He was born in Northfield on October 18, 1932, to General Earl and Hazel Dye Long.

He married Grace Ann Andrews and they raised five children.

He retired on January 31, 1970 after 20 years of service in the US Army as a crypto engineer. After retiring from the service, Bill returned to Garrettsville with his family and was employed by the Pelsue Drug Store. Years later he moved to Orlando, Florida and worked at the University of Central Florida.

He enjoyed being a member of the Newton Falls Chapter of VFW Post No. 3332 and AMVETS, and Bill loved playing cards.

Bill is missing from his children Nancy (Donald) Baldwin, Karen (Timothy) Hill, William Long II, Linda (Jim) Starkey and Sandra Long; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Grace Ann, to whom he was married for 58 years; his parents; and siblings, Edna Botkin, Charles Long, Robert Long, and James Long.

Friends and family can join family for a funeral service of military honors on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Park Cemetery, Garrettsville.
